The work created specifically for this project is an actual example of rebirth as it pertains to art and the artist. The idea for this concept was originally created in 1996 while the artist was living Manhattan NYC. The idea was to make art from scrap paper that would normally be discarded. After a few different prototypes were created, the artist decided on the butterfly as the icon to carry the idea. Butterflies would replace junk mail, old calling cards, receipts, packaging flyers, etc.  Originally they were to be pasted on a wall. But just as art and life mirror each other, the butterfly project was put on hold and inadvertently entered a cocoon like phase as other projects found priority. This year the butterfly emerges from the dusty cocoon. Created with paper dating back to the original idea and spanning to current pieces of paper, the butterfly project finds an ironic introduction to the world, 9 years later.
